After JEE, NEET, now students should also gather information about CUET, do you know?

Common University Entrance Test UG commonly known as CUET is a national level entrance test for admission to UG programs of total 90 universities including Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University.

JEE and NEET are nothing new for children taking science fluency after class 10th. These are very popular among the students. Now a new word needs to be remembered. Common University Entrance Test i.e. CUET. Common University Entrance Test UG commonly known as CUET is a national level entrance test for admission to UG programs of total 90 universities including Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University. Till now, admission to courses including arts, commerce in central universities was done on the basis of 12th marks. Now CUET will be the criterion for admission in Central Universities. This test has started in 500 cities of the country and 10 cities abroad. 14 lakh 90 thousand students have registered for CET (UG). 8.10 lakh candidates have to appear in the first slot and 6.80 lakh candidates in the second slot. At present, the National Eligibility Rank Entrance Test (NEET) is considered as the All India Pee Medical Test in the country. In this 18 lakh candidates are registered. Now for the first time CUET has become the second number exam in the country. Which shows how important it is for the Indian education world. This examination of 54,555 subjects in 90 universities of the country will be helpful in assessing talent with immense diversity.

Let us tell you that 8 lakh students are in the fray for 70 thousand seats of Delhi University. Vice Chancellor Prof Yogesh Singh says that National Testing Agency will conduct CET twice a year, so that student will get more than one chance. If the CUET score of two students is same then the class 12th marks of the tie bank will be considered as the deciding factor. Till now medical and engineering aspirants used to study for JEE-NEET after the 12th examination. Now students seeking admission in 44 Central Universities, 12 State Universities, 11 Deemed Universities and 19 Private Universities will have to prepare for CUET. Delhi University used to reach 100% in merit on the basis of 12th result, now instead of 12th, all eyes will be on CUET score.

University Grants Commission Chairman Prof. Jagdishkumar says, passing class 12 is the minimum eligibility for these exams. CUET will test mental, logical, analytical ability and general knowledge. In such a situation, the era of those who become toppers will end. There has been an increase in the number of students securing more than 95% in class 12th over the years. In the year 2021, there were 70004 such students in CBSE. Which was only 38646 in the year-2020. In the year-2019, this number was 17693. 8 colleges of Delhi University have kept 100% cut off for 11 courses but students of different boards have got admission. CUET will remove the imbalance caused due to marking pattern of different boards. A single evaluation criterion will be made across the country.

At the same time, a question also arises that this will be a new opportunity for the coaching industries running a business of crores at present in the name of JEE and NEET. Not all students will be able to afford this coaching – it can lead to inequality. Till now only the 12th board exam was considered important, but if the entrance exam for undergraduate is to be given then how important will this exam be? This is a great question. Schools have to prepare students for this mandatory test to survive. If extra fee is charged for this preparation, then it will be a new burden for the parents of the students. Well, a new education policy is needed in India, and as it begins, it is expected that simultaneous dual degrees and subject diversification will increase the value of degrees.
