J&K: Bus carrying ITBP jawans falls into gorge, 7 killed, 30 injured

This morning the country got to hear a bad news. In Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, an Indo-Tibetan Border Police bus returning after completing the duty of Amarnath Yatra fell into a deep gorge. In this accident, 7 ITBP personnel were killed, while 30 others were injured. In this accident, the bus carrying the soldiers slipped from the road and fell into a gorge about 500 feet deep and the soldiers were airlifted to the Army Hospital in Srinagar for treatment. has gone.

Let us tell you that this accident happened due to brake failure of the bus. The bus slipped off the road and fell on the bank of the river. After this, commandos of ITBP were dispatched to the spot so that relief and rescue operations could be expedited. According to the information received from the police, 39 people including 37 ITBP personnel and 2 personnel of Jammu and Kashmir Police were in the bus. The bus fell into a deep gorge between Chandanwadi and Pahalgam in which 7 ITBP personnel died on the spot, while 30 other jawans were seriously injured. The bus was coming from Chandanwadi to Pahalgam Police Control Room. ITBP is providing all possible treatment to the injured.

Regarding this, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha said, ‘Deeply saddened by the bus accident near Chandanwadi, in which we lost our brave ITBP personnel. My condolences to the bereaved families. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. All possible help is being provided to the injured personnel.
