Sri Lanka beat Bangladesh in thrilling match, Asalanka and Rajapaksa hit half-centuries

Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh: In the T20 World Cup 2021, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by five wickets in the Super 12 match played between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka in Sharjah. Charith Asalanka and Bhanuka Rajapaksa were the heroes of this Sri Lankan victory. Asalanka played an unbeaten 80 off 49 balls. At the same time, Rajapaksa scored 53 runs in just 31 balls.

The Sri Lankan team, chasing the target, lost the wicket of Kusal Perera (1) in the very first over. But, Charit Aslanka (80 off 49) and Bhanuka Rajapaksa (53 off 31) played brilliant innings and scored half-centuries and showed the team a tremendous victory by 5 wickets in 18.5 overs. This was Sri Lanka’s most successful run chase in the T20 World Cup.

Earlier, Mohammad Naeem and Mushfiqur Rahim batted well for Bangladesh. During this, where Naeem scored 62 runs, Rahim played an unbeaten innings of 57 runs. On the other hand, Dushmantha Chamira proved to be very expensive for Sri Lanka. He gave 41 runs in his 4 overs without taking any wickets, while Chamika Karunaratne bowled very well and took 1 wicket for just 12 runs in his three overs.
