This state-of-the-art 5G ambulance is equipped with onboard cameras, camera-based headgear and body cams for paramedic staff. Doctors will be able to see the patient live in the ambulance while sitting in the hospital. Patients in this ambulance will feel that they are absolutely admitted in the emergency ward of a hospital. This ambulance will work like an emergency ward of the hospital. Airtel, Apollo Hospitals and Cisco have joined hands to make 5G connected ambulances.

Giving information about the 5G connected ambulance, Shankar Srinivasan of Cisco Systems said, the biggest difference between the earlier ambulance and this 5G ambulance is that it is advanced. In earlier ambulances, you could not have a defibrillator machine (defibrillators are devices that send an electric pulse or shock to the heart to restore a normal heartbeat). But it has that facility. Patient monitoring system could not be installed in that ambulance. He further explained that in older ambulances at most you can set up a WhatsApp call and the doctor can see the patient with a mobile video. But all that has changed in the 5G ambulance.

In this state-of-the-art ambulance, doctors can see the patient live. During this, if the patient’s condition worsens, he can also handle it. The complete ICU setup will be installed inside this ambulance. Doctors sitting in the hospital can tell the ambulance staff what to do by looking at the patient’s condition. Srinivasan further said, ‘With 5G you can load the entire ambulance with medical equipment. Whether it is injection syringe, pump or ECG machine or ventilator etc. Distant patients will get a lot of help from this state-of-the-art ambulance. In the shortest possible time, it will be possible to treat those patients who live in far flung areas. The capability of sending data in this ambulance is much more than the normal ambulance. This is the fundamental difference between any kind of connected ambulance and a 5G connected ambulance.
