12 districts of Jharkhand in the grip of dengue

Ranchi. Dengue continues to wreak havoc in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. Dengue patients are increasing continuously since last one month. The situation has become so bad that dengue patients have been confirmed in 12 districts of the state.

At present 14 infected patients are admitted in the dengue ward of RIMS, out of which three patients are from Ranchi. The patients of Ranchi are residents of Ormanjhi, Indrapuri and Lalpur areas of Ratu Road, besides two from West Bengal, one patient from Gaya, four from Palamu, one from Dhanbad, one each from Lohardaga, Latehar and Ramgarh. He is admitted to the isolation ward of RIMS.

Dengue and Chikungunya are spreading rapidly in Jharkhand. In the month of September itself, 45 confirmed cases of chikungunya and 36 confirmed cases of dengue were found in the state. At the same time, in the 10 days of the month of October, about 30 dengue patients have been found. In which 48% of dengue patients and 52% of chikungunya patients are from Ranchi only. Every day, suspected patients with symptoms of dengue and chikungumia are reaching the OPD of RIMS from different districts of the state.

Let us tell you that dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection or disease. Dengue causes high fever, headache, muscle and joint pain, skin rashes, etc. Dengue fever is also known as break bone fever. Dengue is caused by the bite of the Aedes mosquito.
