MLA Prakash Veer sentenced to six months

Nawada, In Bihar, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MLA Prakash Veer of Rajauli (Secured) assembly constituency of Nawada district was today sentenced to six months imprisonment in the Model Code of Conduct violation case. ) and sentenced to a fine of one thousand rupees. Special Court of MP and MLA (MP-MLA) Judge cum Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate cum In-charge Chief Judicial Magistrate Kumar Avinash freed MLA Veer on appellate bail bond after sentencing.

Assistant Prosecution Officer Saket Saurabh told that in the Vidhan Sabha elections held in the year 2005, Prakash Veer was a candidate from Rajauli assembly constituency on Lok Janshakti Party ticket. In the course of the election campaign, on October 5, 2005, the then Rajauli police station in-charge Shiv Narayan Ram found that Prakash Veer’s Rajauli was on an electric pole near Thana Mor and Golai Mor and on a peepal tree on government land on National Highway No. 31. Banners and posters related to elections have been put up in large numbers. On the basis of his written statement, the police station in-charge had registered Rajauli police station case number-111/2005. In which Prakash Veer was made an accused.

In the case on Friday, the court convicted Prakash Veer under Section 3 (1) of the Bihar Prevention of Deformation of Property Act 1985 and sentenced him to six months’ imprisonment and a fine of one thousand rupees. However, being sentenced to six months does not pose any threat to his legislature.
