The process of linking the voter list with Aadhaar will start next month, it is not mandatory to do so

The time for this process is fixed from 1 August 2022 to 30 April 2023.

Assembly elections are going to be held in Gujarat soon. Now before this election, the electoral roll is being prepared by the Election Commission of India from the beginning of next month. During this reform program, voters will have to link their Aadhar number with this voter list. The process will start from August 1.

For this, voters can enter their Aadhaar number online or offline by filling Form No. 6 (B). Also revised forms are available. It is made available through government e-services and citizen facilitation centers as well as mobile water helpline app, water portal or website. Where this entry will be authenticated as voter after uploading Aadhar number slot. The time for this process has been fixed from 1 August 2022 to 30 April 2023.

Please note that this process is not mandatory for voters. This amendment made by the Government of India in Section-23 of the Representation of the People Act, 1950 is voluntary. For this, after the notification announced on December 30 last year, its implementation will start from August 1. The above announcement has been made in this regard by the Chief Electoral Officer-CEO Office of the Election Commission of India in Gujarat. So far, 20 per cent of the total voters in Gujarat have done verification by adding their Aadhaar number to the list.
