VIDEO: Kohli, Dravid Relive Ind’s Last Test In Dominica Ahead Of WI Clash
India coach Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli shared their old memories of Dominica ahead of the first Test match against Windies. Team India will play at the venue after 12 years. Both Kohli and Dravid are the only players in India squad who played earlier at the same venue.
Under MS Dhoni’s captaincy in 2011 India toured the West Indies after lifting the ODI World Cup and and won the three-match Test series 1-0.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video on their twitter where both Dravid and Kohli were sharing their memories of previous Test series in Dominica. The video got Virat on social media and here is the video:
Earlier, former India captain Kohli also shared the photo with Dravid:
“The only two guys part of the last test we played at Dominica in 2011. Never imagined the journey would bring us back here in different capacities. Highly grateful” said Kohli for Dravid in his viral post.
Rohit For India’s Batting In Windies Clash
India skipper Rohit Sharma on Tuesday said that young batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal will open the Indian innings in the Test series against the West Indies since Shubman Gill has expressed his desire to bat at number three on a long term basis.
Shubhman has opened the innings with his skipper since making his Test debut in 2021 against Australia.
Not one to give away his team combination, the Indian skipper for a change spoke about his batting order and how Jaiswal’s presence helped them to have a left-right combination to begin with.
“As far as batting order is concerned, Gill will bat at No. 3 as he himself wants to play at that slot. He himself went up to Rahul bhai (coach Dravid) and requested that since he has played all his cricket at No. 3 and 4, he feels he could contribute more for the team in that slot,” Rohit said during a media conference on the eve of the opening Test.
“For us, it’s a good thing that we will have a left-right combination at the top. Hopefully, this will be a long term solution as we were desperate for left hander at the top. Hope he (Jaiswal) can make that spot his own,” said Rohit.
