For this, the central government has written a letter to the trustee of Jallianwala Bagh National Memorial Trust and former MP Tarlochan Singh. In the letter, the central government has said that a team of experts will visit the site for inspection. At the same time, Tarlochan Singh has said that a letter from the Union Culture Secretary Govind Mohan has come to me, in which it has been said that he will try to address the shortcomings.

Former MP Tarlochan Singh said that on September 29, I had received the letter. The letter said that a team of experts would soon visit Jallianwala Bagh to inspect the site and address the problems raised. Also, the letter said that the spelling mistakes in Punjabi language and Gurmukhi script have already been corrected. So I want to assure you that once the team visits the site all the issues will be resolved soon.

At the same time, Govind Mohan has mentioned a letter written by Tarlochan Singh. According to Govind Mohan, Singh had said in that letter that I had met with you last time. I had discussed with you some major anomalies in the Jallianwala Bagh complex during the meeting. During this I asked you to resolve these discrepancies immediately. According to the letter, Tarlochan Singh has said that there are some errors in the Punjabi translation of the gallery and museum description of Jallianwala Bagh Memorial, which should also be resolved soon.

Tarlochan Singh said that he had raised several points even in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, such as the change at the entrance should not have been done. Also, the names of all the martyrs should have been inscribed on a plaque. Apart from this, the place from where General Dyer had ordered the firing should be kept in its original form. In his letter to Govind Mohan, Tarlochan Singh also referred to a recent report by INTACH, which had stayed some of these changes. Major General (Retd) Balwinder Singh, convener of Punjab chapter of INTACH said that there were some spelling mistakes which have now been corrected. But more importantly, the facelift has disturbed the entire natural layout of the complex.
