A businessman arrested from Haryana in Andaman gang rape

Port Blair. Andaman and Nicobar Police has arrested a Port Blair businessman from Haryana in connection with a gang rape case. A reward of Rs 1 lakh was announced on him.

Giving this information, an official said on Monday that absconding businessman Sandeep Singh alias Rinku was caught on Sunday night for his alleged involvement in the case. He said, Sandeep gave some bank transactions from Haryana about which the police came to know. Immediately the Andaman and Nicobar Police informed the Haryana and Delhi Police and then he was arrested.

However, the police did not say from where the accused was apprehended in Haryana. The Andaman and Nicobar Police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for providing clues about Sandeep Singh alias Rinku, accused of raping a 21-year-old woman and labor commissioner RL Rishi, the official said. According to him, former Chief Secretary of Andaman and Nicobar Jitendra Narayan is also allegedly involved in this case. He said that so far two accused – Narayan and Singh – have been caught in this case while Rishi is still absconding.
A special police task force has been constituted to probe the allegations that a 21-year-old woman was taken to the chief secretary’s house on the promise of a government job in Andaman and Nicobar and raped by top officials, including Narayan. did.

Rishi is accused of raping the woman while businessman Rinku is named in the FIR as an ‘accomplice’ in the crime. The FIR was registered on October 1 when Narayan was the chairman and managing director of Delhi Finance Corporation. The government suspended Narayan with immediate effect on 17 October. (Language)
