Praveen Kumar won silver in high jump event, another medal came for India

Tokyo 2020 Paralympics Games: India got very good news from the ongoing 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo on Friday morning. Another medal has come for India in the Tokyo Paralympics. From the very beginning of the event, medal contender Praveen Kumar has won the silver medal in the final of the high jump T64 event.

With this silver medal of Praveen Kumar, India’s medal tally in Tokyo Paralympics has gone up to 11. So far this is the best performance by India in the history of Paralympic Games.

Since the beginning of the Tokyo Paralympic Games, Praveen Kumar was considered a medal contender in the high jump T64 event. Praveen Kumar kept all the expectations and scored his best and also set the Asian record. In this event, only the current world champion managed to score better than Praveen Kumar.

Praveen Kumar made a record

Praveen Kumar consistently improved in all his three attempts. Praveen Kumar jumped 1.83 meters in his first attempt. After this, Praveen Kumar managed to jump 1.93 meters in his second attempt. In the third attempt, Praveen Kumar managed to jump 2.07 meters while doing wonders. With this effort, Praveen Kumar put a silver medal in India’s bag.

Praveen Kumar, however, came very close to winning the gold medal through his third attempt. Praveen Kumar, however, has set a new Asian record by jumping 2.07 meters in the T64 event.
