New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 152nd birth anniversary and former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. After paying homage to the Father of the Nation Gandhi on his birth anniversary, Shri Modi urged people to buy Khadi and handicrafts products.
Remembering the second Prime Minister of the country, Shri Shastri on his birth anniversary, Prime Minister Modi said that he is appreciated across the country for his simplicity and decision making. Shri Modi also visited Bapu’s Samadhi Sthal at Rajghat in the capital and paid tribute to him by paying floral tributes. On this occasion, Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha was organized there.
Paying tribute to Bapu, Prime Minister Shri Modi tweeted, “Tributes to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on Gandhi Jayanti. This time Gandhi Jayanti is very special as India is celebrating the Amrit Mahotsav of Independence. I wish that we always live up to the ideals of Bapu. I also urge all of you to buy Khadi and handicraft products as a tribute to Gandhiji.
Shri Modi reached Vijay Ghat to pay tribute to former Prime Minister Shri Shastri. He said that Lal Bahadur Shastri ji is admired all over India for his simplicity and decision making. His strong leadership and contribution will always be remembered at a very important moment in our history.
