Now government servants of Bihar will be able to give competitive exam five times
Patna The Bihar government has increased the maximum limit for appearing in competitive examinations for state government servants from three to five. Additional Chief Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat Department, Dr. S. Siddharth told here on Monday that the proposal to this effect has been approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Dr. Siddhartha told that after joining the service of the government servants of Bihar, during their entire service period, each commission is separate to appear in the competitive examinations conducted by Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Bihar Technical Service Commission and Bihar Staff Selection Commission. Only a total of five separate opportunities will be valid. He told that earlier this limit was three.
The Additional Chief Secretary said that the calculation of the prescribed five opportunities would start from the date of issue of the resolution. Opportunities availed earlier will be ignored. He said that the relaxation of five years in the prescribed maximum age limit for regular appointment to the government servants of Bihar for participating in the competitive examinations will be valid as before. But, in the period of relaxation of the said age limit, the permission to appear in the competitive examination can be given only if maximum five chances have not been consumed by them till then.
