Dumka. In Dumka, Jharkhand, four people, including three women of a family, were forcibly fed excreta to four people, including three women of a family, under Saraiyahat block, forcibly made them drink excreta and fired them with hot iron rods.
On Sunday, the police reached the village after getting information about the incident from someone. After this, all the four victims were admitted to the hospital for treatment. It was told that on Saturday night, a person named Jyotin Murmu called a meeting of the people of the village. In this, three women of Srilal Murmu’s house were termed as witches. It was said that the animals and children of the village are getting sick due to their witchcraft. After this, about a dozen people armed with sticks and weapons attacked his house.
Three women of the family, Sonamani Tudu, Rasi Murmu, Kosa Tudu as well as Srilal Murmu were brutally thrashed. After this, all four were caught and forcibly put excreta and urine in their mouths. The attackers fired at them with hot rods. On Sunday morning once again the attackers came and thrashed them again.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Saraiyahat police station in-charge Vinay Kumar got information about the incident and a police team was sent to the village. All the four people were taken to the hospital in Deoghar. According to the police, raids are being conducted to arrest the attackers. (IANS)
