Fake call center busted in Goa, six arrested
Panaji. Six people were arrested in Goa’s Chimbel on Thursday for allegedly running a fake call center to dupe US citizens on the pretext of approving loans and medical bills. A police officer gave this information.
A police spokesman said a crime branch team led by Inspector Vishwajit Chodankar raided Chinchwada. The accused are from Nagaland and Ahmedabad in Gujarat, he said. They were duping American citizens in the name of approving loans and medical bills. In all, we have seized six laptops, mobile phones worth Rs 10 lakh.
