Drought situation will be surveyed in UP
Lucknow. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has summoned a report from all the district magistrates within a week, directing them to deploy a team in every district to survey the drought situation in the state.
A spokesman of the state government said that the Chief Minister has ordered a survey of the drought situation in a major decision to provide relief to the farmers affected by the drought. The District Magistrate will be accountable for negligence and unnecessary delay in this work. He said that this year 62 districts of the state have received below average rainfall.
The spokesman said that in order to provide relief to the farmers suffering from drought, all the rents in the affected districts will be suspended. Apart from this, the recovery of tubewell charges will also be postponed. While the state received below average rainfall, about one and a half dozen districts were badly affected by the floods.
