London. Britain’s new Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has wished everyone a Happy Diwali and vowed that he will do everything to build a Britain where ‘our children and grandchildren can light their lamps and see the future. Let’s look at it with hope.’
Sunak, 42, attended the Diwali celebrations held at 10 Downing Street, the prime minister’s official residence in London, on Wednesday night. A day before this, he made history by becoming Britain’s first prime minister of Indian origin.
Sunak tweeted, “Very happy to attend the Diwali celebrations at 10 Downing Street. I will do my best to build a Britain where our children and our grandchildren can light their lamps and look to the future with hope.
