UP: Cyber ​​cell is going hi-tech, cyber criminals will come to power

Lucknow, 26 April 2022 : On the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, the Home Department has prepared a big action plan to check cyber crime. Cyber ​​help desks have been set up in all police stations. Not only this, in the coming times, not only will the arrest of cyber criminals be easy, but the pending investigations will also be completed fast and punished. There is also a proposal to establish a digital forensic lab in Lucknow and a cyber forensic lab at every zone level. In view of the increasing cyber crimes in the last tenure, CM Yogi had directed the Home Department to take effective action.

In the last five years, 18 Zonal Cyber ​​Crime Stations have been established and 414 posts have been created in these police stations. Whereas five years ago there were only two cyber crime police stations in Lucknow and Gautam Budh Nagar. Women Cyber ​​Crime Cells have been established in every regional cyber crime police station under the Yogi government. In the last five years, 863 cases have been registered in 18 Zonal Cyber ​​Crime Stations, in which 586 accused have been arrested and more than four crore rupees have been recovered from the accused. Apart from this, about seven billion rupees have been frozen in bank accounts and about 11 crore rupees have been returned to the accounts of the victims.

High quality Center of Excellence will be set up at Cyber ​​Crime Headquarters

Keeping in view the future challenges of cybercrime, all kinds of resources are being equipped. Training is being given to the employees at Cyber ​​Crime Headquarters for speedy and quality disposal of pending cases. In the next years, 18 Zonal Cyber ​​Stations will be operationalized in their administrative buildings. Along with this other necessary resources will be made available. Assistance will be taken from cyber experts for technical assistance in research, training and investigation at Cyber ​​Crime Headquarters and a high quality Center of Excellence will be developed at Headquarters. Apart from this, Certified Crime Prevention Specialists (CCPS) will be established in every district.
