Biden’s party has a majority in the Senate
Washington. The traditional trend of mid-term elections in America has changed. Usually, the ruling party is defeated in the mid-term elections, but this time the party of President Joe Biden has dashed all the trends and predictions. The Democratic Party has again got a majority in the Senate, the world’s most powerful upper house. In the lower house, the House of Representatives, there is a close contest between the Democrats and the Republican Party. At present, Donald Trump’s Republican Party is leading but it has not achieved the majority mark of 218 seats.
Nonetheless, the Democratic Party won 50 seats in the Senate in the US midterm election. Now the Democrats will control the upper house of the US Parliament. The majority figure in the hundred-seat Senate is 51 seats. But if there is a 50-50 seat tie-breaker, Vice President Kamala Harris will be the tie-breaker. However, the results for one Georgia seat are yet to come. If no candidate gets 50 percent of the votes there, then again voting will be held on December 6.
Meanwhile, about the victory in the Senate, President Biden said – the competition was tough. But I am not at all surprised that the victory was ours. I am very happy There is also a close contest for the House of Representatives, the lower house of the US Parliament, with 211 seats for Republicans and 204 for Democrats in the 434-member House. The counting for the rest of the seats has not been completed. Parties usually lose majority in mid-term elections.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump’s announcement of contesting the election may be stalled due to the Republican Party’s not performing well in the mid-term elections. At a rally in Sioux City, Trump said he was planning to run for the 2024 presidential election. He said- To make the country safe, I can stand for re-election. All I want to say is that you all get ready. However, his party has not been able to perform well in the mid-term elections and most of the people he had fielded with his support have lost.
