Guwahati | Police Encounter Rapist Latest : The main accused in the gang rape of a minor girl died in a police encounter on Wednesday evening. It has been told that the accused was killed while trying to escape from police custody. According to the statement given by the police in this regard, when they were going to the crime scene with the accused for further investigation, the incident came to light. When the accused tried to escape, they started firing. The accused was brought to the Gauhati Medical College Hospital in an injured condition where he was declared brought dead.

Police Encounter Rapist Latest : Gauhati Medical College Hospital superintendent Abhijeet Sharma said the accused was brought to the hospital at 1 pm and had four bullets in his body. According to the police, the accused had also injured two women policemen but now they are out of danger. The accused was arrested from Dumpur area of Kamrup district on Tuesday. The victim’s mother had lodged a complaint on March 8, after which he was absconding.

Police Encounter Rapist Latest : The accused is accused of gang-raping a 15-year-old girl. Two of them had harassed her earlier as well. According to the complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, the two accused, who had earlier raped her on February 16, had also made a video of the incident. They used to threaten the girl that if she told anyone about the incident, they would leak the video. On February 19, both the accused invited the girl to a hotel where five people raped her, promising to delete the video. Police said that the search operation is on to nab the other accused.
