Jaipur. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has appealed to all public representatives to have food at least once a month in Indira Rasoi to ensure the quality of food. Under the Indira Rasoi Yojana of the state government, food is provided for eight rupees.
Gehlot said that in this scheme, which provides fresh, nutritious and delicious food by sitting respectfully for eight rupees, I appeal to all the MPs, MLAs, Mayor, Chairman, Councilors and other public representatives to maintain the quality of food and ensure better monitoring. That they eat at least one day every month in Indira Rasoi. He said that this will increase the contact and coordination of all of you with the public and will also create a sense of belonging in the society.
Gehlot said that Indira Rasoi Yojana is becoming popular in the entire state. He tweeted on Tuesday night, last month I had a meal at Indira Rasoi in Jodhpur with the Speaker of the Assembly and fellow MLAs with a coupon of Rs.8 and will continue to do so. The Chief Minister further said, in this era of inflation, with the cooperation of the state government, it is our priority to provide good food to the needy for eight rupees.
He had chaired a meeting on Tuesday to review the implementation of the scheme. It was informed in the meeting that so far 7.42 crore people have been served food plates under Indira Rasoi Yojana. A total of 870 cooks are operating in the state, whose number has been targeted to be increased to 1,000. After this 13.81 crore food thali will be made available every year.
Indira Rasoi Yojana was launched in August 2020. These kitchens are being operated by more than 500 local organizations in the state on the basis of ‘no profit, no loss’ model. (Language)
