Col Ajay Kothiyal resigns from AAP party

Nainital, Colonel (Retd) Ajay Kothiyal, who was the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) chief ministerial candidate in the Uttarakhand assembly elections, has resigned from the party on Wednesday. Col Kothiyal has sent his resignation letter to AAP’s national convener Arvind Kejriwal today. In the letter sent to Kejriwal, he has not given any specific reason. However, he has said that I have been a member of AAP from April 19, 2021 to May 18, 2022. Keeping in mind the sentiments of the ex-servicemen, ex-paramilitary, elderly, women, youth and intellectuals of Uttarakhand, today I am sending my resignation from the membership of the party.

It is noteworthy that under the leadership of Colonel Ajay Kothiyal, AAP had contested the recent assembly elections on 70 assembly seats in Uttarakhand, but the party had to face defeat badly. All the ministers and MLAs of Delhi including Mr. Kejriwal, Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had campaigned vigorously in the assembly elections. He had promised vigorously to provide free electricity, unemployment allowance and other facilities to the people of the state, but the people of the state rejected him outright. Even the AAP candidates could not manage to save the bail.
