Bihar: Ration card will be canceled if income is more than ten thousand

Patna The Government of Bihar has decided to cancel the ration card of the employees working in government offices with an income of Rs 10,000 and above. Official sources said here on Wednesday that the government has directed cancellation of ration cards of those found not eligible under the provisions of the National Food Security Act. Along with this, the ration cards of employees working on contract basis in various government offices and not fulfilling the criteria will also be cancelled. This decision is to be implemented by 31st May 2022, for which instructions have been issued to run a special campaign across the state.
Food department secretary Vinay Kumar said that instructions have been issued to the district magistrates in this regard. He said that those who do not come under the norm have been asked to return the ration card. The district magistrates have also been instructed to immediately cancel the not being used ration cards.
