The company said in a statement that customers can purchase an annual subscription to the mobile version of OTT through the official website or its app for Android.

Launching its new subscription model, Amazon said that Prime Video Mobile Edition has taken a major step towards making premium entertainment in all languages as ubiquitous as smartphones in the country.

With this move, Prime Video aims to expand the reach of Mobile Edition, which debuted as a telco-partnered product last year in partnership with Bharti Airtel. Gaurav Gandhi, Vice President, Prime Video India, said, “With 99 percent of the country’s pin code viewership, the service is the preferred destination for premium content.”

The mobile edition provides users with standard definition (SD) quality streaming and allows them to watch Prime Video’s Indian and international movies, Amazon Originals, live cricket and many more.
