Ranchi. Sonu Manjhi, a hardcore Naxalite of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), has been arrested from the Airport Police Station area of Ranchi. A weapon has also been recovered from him.
It is being told that the weapon found with the Naxalites was A.K. is 47. It was told that Sonu Manjhi is a resident of Khunti district. He had come to meet his mother living in Tonk Basti near the airport, when the police arrested him on the basis of secret information. The police is probing that what was the motive behind bringing the weapon to the airport police station area? There is a possibility that some other people may also be with him.
Whether the weapon recovered from the Naxalites is AK47 or any other weapon, it has not been confirmed by the police at the moment. Several cases are registered against him in Khunti, Ranchi and Chaibasa districts. Ranchi Police is currently interrogating the arrested Naxalite. According to the information, he has told the police that his mother lives in a rented house in this area. He had come to meet her on the occasion of worship.
