When Mohammad Kaif had to lose his wicket due to Harbhajan Singh’s joke

What the Duck Show: Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh is known for his witty style on and off the field. Bhajji has played 103 Tests and 236 ODIs and 28 T20 matches for the Indian team in his long career. Some time ago Harbhajan Singh and former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif had reached a talk show together.

In Vikram Sathaye’s show ‘What the Duck’, both the players revealed many interesting anecdotes. Recalling a similar incident against Sri Lanka, Kaif told host Vikram Sathaye that a joke by Harbhajan Singh had cost him his wicket once.

Kaif said, “We were playing a Test match against Sri Lanka and I was curious because I had never played against Muttiah Muralitharan. He is known for his Test-match bowling skills. So I played Bhajji. How does he bowl? He told me not to cut, not to shoot forward, not to bat back.

He continued, “I was very confused later when he said that if one of his eyes gets bigger than the other, then Murali will bowl faster. I was in a dilemma whether I should focus on my batting or not. On his eyes and I got out in the very first over. Later I realized that Bhajji was joking about the eye. Let us tell you that Harbhajan Singh and Mohammad Kaif have been close friends for many years.
