Waqf Board takes out Milad procession in Srinagar
Srinagar. The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board took out a procession for the first time in the city on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi on Sunday. Today a Milad procession was taken out from the Nigeen club near Hazratbal along with many religious preachers and a large number of devotees under the leadership of Drakhshan Andrabi, the Waqf Board President. While interacting with the media persons on this occasion, Mrs Andrabi while wishing the whole world especially the people of Kashmir on this occasion said that Allah has created the world, sun and moon and Waqf Board Will celebrate the day with great enthusiasm.
He said that all Muslims and people who believe in humanity should celebrate Eid-e-Milad and follow the path of Prophet Muhammad. He said that it is the duty of the Waqf Board to take out such procession on this occasion in future also. Meanwhile, Divisional Commissioner PK Pol greeted the people of Kashmir on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad. Pol today visited the holy shrine of Hazratbal to offer prayers and take stock of the arrangements made for the visiting devotees. He said that adequate arrangements have been made for transportation, water supply and cleanliness in the vicinity of Hazratbal on this occasion. He urged the people to pray for continued peace and prosperity for the Kashmir Valley. (talk)
