Uddhav said – Shiv Sena will have the election symbol arrow-bow, there should be mid-term elections…
Mumbai | Shiv Sena Udhav Maharasthra : In the midst of the ongoing electoral tussle in Maharashtra, now the government has been formed, but the political bets are still going on. Amid a standoff with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led rebel faction over the election symbol, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray on Friday asserted that the arrow-bow symbol would remain with the parent party. Thackeray also demanded mid-term elections in Maharashtra and said that people should be given a chance to clarify their stand on the toppling of the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government led by him. Addressing a press conference here, Mr Thackeray said the change of power in the state could have happened only in 2019 in a dignified manner and not with “betrayal” as was done last week.
Decision will be taken on the future of democracy on July 11
Shiv Sena Udhav Maharasthra : Thackeray was referring to the separation of Shiv Sena and BJP on the issue of alternately becoming chief ministers after the 2019 assembly election results. Thackeray also hit out at the rebel Shiv Sena group for being silent when the BJP targeted and abused him and his family in the last two and a half years. Without naming Shinde, he said that you keep in touch with him and betray your own party like this. Thackeray said that the coming judgment of the Supreme Court on July 11 will not only decide the future of Shiv Sena but also the future of Indian democracy. The Supreme Court is likely to deliver its verdict on that day on a petition seeking disqualification of 16 rebel Shiv Sena MLAs.

There may be a split in the legislature party, but…
Shiv Sena Udhav Maharasthra : Thackeray said that he had consulted constitutional experts and they told that there may be a split in the legislature party, but the parent party remains and cannot die. He said that the Legislature Party and the Fundamental Party are two separate units. There should not be any confusion regarding the election symbol. Shiv Sainiks should be assured that the arrow-bow sign will remain with us. Thackeray also said that he would decide which candidate to support in the presidential election after holding talks with party MPs.
