Petition against Shinde faction

New Delhi. Maharashtra’s opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi has filed a new petition in the Supreme Court against the rebel Shiv Sena MLAs. After the formation of the new government in Maharashtra under the leadership of Eknath Shinde, the leader of the rebel MLAs of Shiv Sena, a petition has been filed against 39 MLAs of his faction. In this, the court has been requested to stop these 39 MLAs from going to the assembly. The court has fixed July 11 for hearing on this, while the Shinde government has to prove its majority on Monday itself.

In the petition of Maha Vikas Aghadi, it has been said that such MLAs, against whom trial is still pending or pending, should be banned from attending the proceedings of the assembly. The Supreme Court has fixed July 11 for hearing the petition, while before that the new speaker is to be elected and the government has to prove its majority. If the rebel MLAs participate in the Speaker’s election and floor test, it will ensure victory for the Shinde faction.

After Shinde became the Chief Minister, Maha Vikas Aghadi said- Rebel MLAs are working as pawns of BJP. Also those who are committing the constitutional sin of defection should not be allowed to perpetuate their sin even for a day by allowing them to continue as members of the Legislative Assembly. It has been said on behalf of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray that despite the rebellion of Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena belongs to Uddhav Thackeray. He was elected the party president in the Shiv Sena organizational election on 23 June and was duly informed to the Election Commission on 27 June.

Meanwhile, there is news that Uddhav Thackeray’s camp is preparing to challenge the governor’s decision to invite Eknath Shinde to form the government. The Uddhav camp said that only the floor test was scheduled. In such a situation, no decision regarding disqualification should be taken till July 12. It was asked on his behalf to keep him under suspension till the disqualification is decided. Significantly, on the disqualification notices given by Deputy Speaker Narhari Jirwal to 16 rebel MLAs, the Supreme Court has given them time till July 11.
