Surat: Chamber’s ‘Yarn Expo-2022’ likely to generate more than 650 crores business for exhibitors

The ‘Yarn Expo – 2022’ organized by Dakshin Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Dakshin Gujarat Chamber Trade and Industries Development Center at Surat International Exhibition and Convention Center in Sarsana is likely to see a turnover of over Rs 650 crore in the next six months. A total of over 15,000 buyers visited the exhibition during the three days. Due to strong business potential for the exhibitors, yarn manufacturers across the country have already shown their preparations for booking the fifth edition of Yarn Expo to be held on 4th, 5th and 6th August in the year 2023.

Chamber President Himanshu Bodawala said that the textile industry has been given a market target of USD 250 billion by Union Apparel Minister Piyush Goyal, to achieve which this exhibition will prove to be effective. Industrialists from the weaving and knitting industry showcased various varieties of yarns like polyester, nylon, viscose, cotton and cotonic yarns at the Yarn Expo as well as special types of yarns like Antibacterial Yarn, Imitated Silk Yarn, Syro Impact Yarn, Granite Yarn, Hemp Yarn. , Detailed information was obtained on Flex Yarn, Polyester Yarn, Cotton Stretch Yarn, Recycled Yarn, Eco Gold Bio Degradable Yarn, Total Text Yarn for Sports Wear and Fire Retardant Yarn etc.

Bookings open for the fifth edition of Yarn Expo

A lot of inquiries were generated especially for fancy zari and special thread. This year, along with the weavers, many traders and retailers of the textile market also reached the yarn exhibition. Apart from this, garment manufacturers also visited various yarn stalls. Now they will get samples from yarn manufacturers and develop new fabrics. A variety of new fabrics and new creations will be developed in Surat in the near future by sampling these threads. The development of function garments used in sports from this yarn will also be done from Surat. This creation will also serve for the export of clothes. The exhibitors are expecting a growth of over 10 per cent in the business in the new season and are likely to cross Rs 650 crore in the next six months.Meanwhile, Indonesia’s Consul General in Mumbai, Agus Saptono and Economic Consul General Tolha Ubedi visited the yarn exhibition and got detailed information about different yarns. During the three days, genuine buyers from Algeria, Egypt, Sudan also visited Yarn Expo. Apart from this weavers and traders from all over the country visited the exhibition. In which 3,400 buyers were received on the first day, 7,000 on the second day and 4,800 on the last third day. A total of more than 15 thousand buyers visited the exhibition and placed a lot of orders for the exhibitors.
