Shinde faction recognized in Parliament
New Delhi, After 40 MLAs in Maharashtra, 12 Shiv Sena MPs have also gone with rebel leader Eknath Shinde. Under the pressure of these MPs, Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray had decided to support NDA’s candidate Draupadi Murmu. But this bet of Uddhav also did not work. On Tuesday, the day after the presidential election, 12 MPs from his party parted ways. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who arrived in Delhi on Tuesday, got these MPs paraded in front of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Later the speaker recognized the leader of these 12 MPs, Rahul Shewale, as the leader of Shiv Sena.
Along with this, Eknath Shinde has also strengthened his claim on Shiv Sena. He says that 40 out of 55 MLAs of the party and 12 out of 18 MPs are with him. Thus two-thirds of the elected representatives are with him, so the real Shiv Sena belongs to him. Significantly, a day later, on Wednesday, the Supreme Court will hear the Shiv Sena dispute. Just before that Eknath Shinde played this bet. The central government has provided Y category security to these 12 MPs of Shinde faction.
However, on Tuesday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde reached Delhi and met Union Home Minister Amit Shah. After that he went straight to meet Speaker Om Birla. It is being told that the Shinde faction may soon go to the Election Commission as well. The control over the party is for the Election Commission to decide. On the one hand, Eknath Shinde has most of the people’s representatives and on the other hand Uddhav Thackeray has the party organization. Party officials are still with him.
After the breakdown of MPs in Delhi, Uddhav Thackeray called a meeting of senior party office bearers in Mumbai. He also called the municipal presidents to this meeting. It is noteworthy that the last meeting of the Shiv Sena executive was held on June 21 last month, in which Uddhav had the majority of the executive committee. In that meeting, Uddhav Thackeray was again elected as the party chief. All the leaders had given Uddhav Thackeray the right to take the decisions of the party. It was also decided in the meeting that no one else would use the name of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. Eight days later, on June 29, Uddhav Thackeray resigned from the post of Chief Minister.
