This proverb has been proved to be true by Priya, the daughter of a sweeper who lives in a small room in the narrow streets of Sector 25 of the city. Priya, who dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood, has taken the first step towards making her dreams come true by clearing the medical entrance examination with her hard work and dedication. Priya (19), daughter of a sweeper in a government polyclinic, secured ninth position in the medical entrance examination and got admission in the MBBS course at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector-32. Priya, who studied in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Sector 25, from class 6th to 12th, told that she started dreaming of becoming a doctor from the sixth grade itself. Priya’s father Hanuman Prasad says that she often went to polyclinics with me and always asked who they were after seeing the doctors.
From that time he started dreaming of becoming a doctor. She wanted to take NEET coaching after class 12th, but the fees for coaching institutes located in the city were very high. Eventually he got admission in Dakshina Foundation located in Pune. Priya told that her classes there used to start at 7 in the morning and end at 5 in the evening. Meanwhile during her free time she used to clear her doubts. Priya said that the attitude of friends, relatives and other family members was very supportive, everyone encouraged her.
