Patra Chawl scam: Sanjay Raut in trouble, Court extends judicial custody
Mumbai | Patra Chawl Scam: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut has once again got a setback from the court in Maharashtra. The court has extended the judicial custody of Sanjay Raut till October 17 in the Patra Chawl land scam case. Let us tell you that the ED had arrested Raut on August 1.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut, who has come under ED’s grip in connection with alleged financial irregularities in the redevelopment of Patra Chawl in Maharashtra’s Goregaon, was earlier ordered by the court to keep him in judicial custody till October 10.

Allegation- Sanjay Raut bought property during the scam
Patra Chawl Scam: Along with this, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) also made many big disclosures in the supplementary chargesheet filed against Sanjay Raut in the Patra Chawl case. According to which, the accused Rakesh Wadhawan, Sarang Wadhawan and Praveen Raut had committed money laundering in connivance, whose money was also sent to Sanjay Raut. The investigation also found that Raut bought properties during the entire scam and used these money for his personal work.

Patra Chawl Scam: Let us tell you that the most talked about Patra Chawl land scam of Maharashtra started in 2007. In this scam, around Rs 1034 crore has been said to be misappropriated. Sanjay Raut’s friend Praveen Raut is also an accused in this case. Three thousand flats were to be built inside Patra Chawl, out of which 672 flats were to be given to the residents of the chawl, but the company sold the land to private builders. The scam was carried out by Praveen Raut, Guru Ashish Construction and Housing Development and Infrastructure Limited along with Maharashtra Housing and Development Authority.
