Leh | Earthquake in Kargil: Many parts of the country from the hill states to North India are trembling due to earthquake tremors for the last several days. In such a situation, on Tuesday once again the land of India was shaken by the tremors of the earthquake. Earthquake tremors have been felt in Kargil, North India today.
Tremors of magnitude 4.3 shake Kargil region
According to information, earthquake tremors have been felt in Kargil, 191 km north of Ladakh at 10:05 am on Tuesday. According to the National Center for Seismology, the intensity of the earthquake has been measured at 4.3 on the Richter scale.
Panic among people due to frequent earthquakes
Earthquake tremors are being felt repeatedly in many parts of the country for the last several days. Due to which now an atmosphere of panic has been created among the people. It is noteworthy that in the recent past, states like Delhi-NCR including UP, Bihar, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand have been shaken by earthquakes several times. However, there has been no news of any loss of life or property due to the earthquake in Kargil today.
So why do earthquakes happen?
Earthquake in Kargil: Geologists say that due to the instability of tectonic plates in the Himalayan region, the conditions for earthquakes arise. Tectonic plates float on lava in the Earth’s core. Earthquakes occur when one plate comes in contact with another. Due to the continuous pressure of the Eurasian Plate on the Indian Plate, the energy stored under it keeps on coming out from time to time in the form of earthquakes.
