NDA doors will open for girls next year, criteria are being prepared

Female Cadets in NDA: The Center has told the Supreme Court that in May 2022, a notification will be issued to include girls in the National Defense Academy. Prior to that the experts of the three services are engaged in preparing the criteria for the selection of women cadets. Decision is also being taken on the parameters of training of selected girls. Simultaneously, the infrastructure and support staff requirements to accommodate female cadets in the academy are also being assessed.
Advocate Kush Kalra has filed a petition in the Supreme Court to demand equal opportunities for girls to be recruited in the army. It states that only boys who recruit young officers in the army get admission to the National Defense Academy. Doing so is a violation of the fundamental rights of those eligible girls, who want to join the army and serve the country. In the hearing held on September 8, the Center told the Supreme Court that it has also decided to give commission to girls in the army through NDA. Now an affidavit has been filed regarding the same.
