The Supreme Court has slammed the Kisan Mahapanchayat for blocking national highways in Delhi-NCR for almost a year in protest against agricultural laws. During the hearing of a petition seeking a protest at Jantar Mantar, the Supreme Court has said that the protesting farmers are disrupting traffic, blocking trains and national highways.

The Supreme Court said that you have the right to protest but you do not have the right to harass people by blocking the highway. Due to your performance, common people are facing many problems. Expressing displeasure, the Supreme Court said that the protesting farmers have strangled the city for a long time and now want to come inside the city and create a nuisance. Will the people of the city close their business because of you, will people be happy with your performance?

However, the lawyer of ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ said in the Supreme Court that the barricades were put up by the police, not by the farmers. A bench headed by Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul said about the protesting farmers that the farmers are blocking traffic, trains and national highways. On one hand the security personnel are being harassed and on the other side a petition has been filed to demand demonstration. In view of this, how permission can be given to perform. Let us inform that now the next hearing in this matter will be held on Monday.

At the same time, the Supreme Court asked the central government that what did you do to clear the road that was closed in the protest of farmers in Delhi? The top court said that roads cannot be occupied forever.
