Jharkhand governor arrives in Delhi

Ranchi/Delhi. Governor Ramesh Bais has once again reached Delhi amid the ongoing political upheaval in Jharkhand. A day earlier on Thursday, a delegation of the ruling coalition in Jharkhand had met him and appealed to him to take an early decision on the report sent by the Election Commission regarding the assembly membership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The Governor had said that he would take a decision on this in a day or two. They have reached Delhi before taking the decision.

Keep in mind that earlier on August 25, when the Election Commission sent its report to the Governor, the Governor was also in Delhi on that day. Even after a week has passed since the Election Commission’s report, the Governor has not been able to take a decision. It is worth mentioning that Chief Minister Hemant Soren is accused of taking the lease of the mine in his name. This makes a case for office of profit. Because of this, there is speculation about his disqualification from the membership of the Legislative Assembly.

However, it is being said that he can meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. The governor has not taken a decision, but there are many rumors about the report of the Election Commission. This has created political uncertainty in the state. The ruling coalition alleges that the delay by the governor is giving the BJP an opportunity to horse-trade MLAs. To save it, JMM and Congress MLAs have been taken to Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh.

Meanwhile, it is reported that BJP workers protested outside the Mayfair resort in Nava Raipur, where JMM and Congress MLAs are kept. They say that Bhupesh Baghel has made Raipur a den of debauchery. More than 50 workers had reached there under the leadership of BJYM state president Amit Sahu. Everyone raised slogans to send the MLAs of Jharkhand back from there. The police have also made elaborate security arrangements outside the resort. About two hundred soldiers have been deployed. The station in-charges of four police stations are present there and two officers of the SP rank themselves are handling the front.
