Police station in charge in Kanpur accident case

Kanpur. The police station concerned has been suspended in connection with the death of at least 26 people when a tractor-trolley full of passengers fell into a pond on Saturday near Bhadeuna village in Saad police station area of ​​Kanpur district of Uttar Pradesh. .

District Magistrate (DM) Visakh G Iyer said on Sunday that in this case the concerned station president has been suspended for dereliction of duty. He said that despite the place being just one kilometer away from the police station, the police station in-charge reached the spot with a delay of about an hour, hence action has been taken against him.

According to the District Magistrate, the rescue work has been completed and the post-mortem of the bodies was done on Saturday night. Now his last rites are going to be held at Deori Ghat in Maharajpur. Nine injured people are being treated.

Significantly, a tractor-trolley carrying 34 people was going to Ghatampur on Saturday after attending a shaving ceremony organized at Chandrika Devi temple in Fatehpur. Meanwhile, a total of 26 people, including 13 women and the same number of children, were killed when the tractor-trolley fell into the pond.
