Hemant will prove majority

Ranchi. On the lines of Arvind Kejriwal government of Delhi, Hemant Soren government of Jharkhand will prove majority by convening a special session of the assembly. Alleging attempts to topple the government in Delhi, Kejriwal had called a one-day special session, which lasted for five days and proved his majority. Similarly, the Hemant Soren government has decided to convene a one-day special session of the Legislative Assembly on September 5. To end the ongoing uncertainty in the state, the government can prove majority in it.

Amidst the ongoing political instability in the state, the Hemant cabinet meeting was held, in which it was decided to convene the assembly session on September 5. The government said that the monsoon session of one day was missed, which has been called on September 5. In this the government can prove majority. In the cabinet meeting held on Thursday, approval has also been given to implement the old pension scheme. It was implemented from Thursday itself. A total of 25 proposals were approved in the meeting.

Earlier on Thursday, a delegation of JMM, Congress and RJD met Governor Ramesh Bais. The delegation gave a memorandum to the Governor and demanded to clarify the position on the assembly membership of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Significantly, in the matter of office of profit, the Election Commission has sent its report to the Governor and the Governor has to decide. The Election Commission is believed to have found the Chief Minister guilty in the matter of office of profit and has recommended termination of membership. Even after a lapse of more than a week, the Governor has not taken any decision on this.

The leaders of the Grand Alliance told the Governor that half-finished news was leaking from his office, adding to the instability. After meeting the Governor, JMM and Congress leaders told that the Governor has assured to take a decision in a day or two. In the memorandum given by the delegation, it has been said that half-incomplete news is creating confusion, due to which efforts are being made to destabilize the government.

The delegation included MPs Dheeraj Sahu, Geeta Koda, Vijay Hansda, Mahua Maji, former MLAs Mr. Bandhu Tirkey, Vinod Kumar Pandey, Supriyo Bhattacharya, RJD state vice-president Vinod Bhokta. After meeting the Governor, JMM General Secretary Vinod Pandey said that the Governor has said that the letter has been received from the Election Commission. The situation will be clarified after taking legal advice on this in a day or two. He denied reports of the chief minister’s resignation. It is noteworthy that the MLAs of both the alliance parties have been kept at the Mayfair Resort in Raipur, where they held a press conference on Thursday evening and claimed that all the MLAs were united.
