Dussehra rally not allowed in Shivaji Park
Mumbai The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has refused permission to any faction of Shiv Sena to organize Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park. It is noteworthy that Shiv Sena’s Uddhav Thackeray-led faction and Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde-led faction had sought permission for Dussehra rally on October 5.
BMC officials denied permission to hold the rally at Shivaji Park on the grounds of law and order issues raised by Mumbai Police.
BMC commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal said that the BMC administration has denied permission to both the Shiv Sena factions to organize a rally at Shivaji Park on October 5 on the occasion of Dussehra. Officials said that the BMC has sent a letter informing both the groups about not giving permission. (Language)
