Big offer of Jharkhand government: Up to 20 lakh discount on electric vehicle
Ranchi. Jharkhand government has announced its new policy for electric vehicles. The government aims to have 10 percent of the total vehicles in the state with electric vehicles by 2026. The government has announced a discount of 10 thousand to 20 lakh rupees on the purchase of these vehicles. Concession will also be given on road tax and permit. State government employees will be given 100% interest subsidy on purchase of electric two wheeler or four wheeler.
According to the new policy notified by the government, you will be able to get the benefit of discount of up to Rs 1.50 lakh on buying an electric car. Electric two wheeler will get a discount of up to 10 thousand rupees. A discount of 30 thousand rupees will be available on the purchase of electric auto for commercial purpose. The government wants that e-buses should be operated on a large scale in the state. Therefore, a discount of up to Rs 20 lakh can be available on the purchase of such buses.
The customers who shop first will get the most benefit from these discount schemes. 100 percent discount can be given to the first 10,000 buyers of EV, 75 percent to 10 to 15 thousand buyers and up to 25 percent for those who buy after this. It has been provided in the policy that in any case buyers will get a discount of 10 percent in terms of the total price. In this, complete exemption from vehicle registration fee and road tax has also been announced.
The government has announced attractive offers to electric vehicle manufacturers to set up production units in Jharkhand. Subsidy ranging from Rs 2 crore to Rs 30 crore will be given to such companies. To avail this benefit, they will have to set up a production unit in the state within the first two years from the launch of Jharkhand’s EV policy.
The government aims to start production of advanced chemistry cell batteries for electric vehicles in the state by 2027. According to the government’s plan, one charging station will be installed in every three km radius and every 24 km on the national highway. There is a preparation to open 50 charging stations for every 10 lakh population in urban areas. This policy is implemented for five years. Emphasis will be given on use of EVs for office use in government offices also. (IANS)
