Big news: Doors of Rashtriya Indian Military College open for girls too, a big change after 100 years

Five seats were reserved for girls but in the first batch only four girls were selected, only two were joining.

After 100 years in RIMC i.e. Rashtriya Indian Military College, now girls will finally be able to get admission. With this decision a great change took place in the history of the college. For the first time, girls got admission as RIMC cadets. For the first time, girls have been recruited as RIMC cadets. Five seats were reserved for girls but in the first batch, only two girls became the epitome of this change.

568 applications, four girls selected, two joining

Let us tell you that in the military sector, where women were earlier appointed as short service commissions, now the path of full career is open. With this, career opportunities for women in the army are increasing. RIMC has also opened the way for girls’ admission this year. In the recently started session, applications were sought by keeping five seats reserved. For this, 568 applications were received from across the country. After the completion of the process of these applications, only four girls were selected. Out of these, two selected girls joined while two girls could not join the army due to personal reasons. Many changes have been made to prepare this institute as a co-educational institution as soon as the girls arrive as cadets. Work on some is in progress.

Applicant’s age fixed from 11 and a half years to 13 years

It has been learned that one of the two girls who reached here is a resident of Haryana. VIII Admission Process Around 25 cadets are recruited here every six months. The age of the applicant has been fixed from 11 and a half years to 13 years. Admission can be taken only in 8th class. The condition is that the candidate must be studying in 7th or 7th pass from a recognized school. About 90% of the cadets who passed out from RIMC cleared the NDA exam.

Changes after girls join NDA

This has changed after the doors of the National Defense Academy (NDA) were opened for girls. It was decided to admit girls in RIMC under an order of the Supreme Court. On the centenary foundation day held in March last, the then commandant had said that seats have been kept for girls to enter. Their number may increase further in the batch to be selected in January.
