Assam: BSF nabs smuggler with 9 kg heroin
New Delhi. The Border Security Force (BSF) has got a major success in the campaign against drugs. A smuggler smuggler with 9.477 kg of heroin has been arrested in Karimganj, Assam. This information has been given by BSF.
BSF said that based on an intelligence input last night, 7th Battalion of BSF Mizoram Kachar and Karimganj Police in a joint operation blocked a truck in the border area of Karimganj. On investigation, 764 soap boxes were found inside the truck. Of these, about 9.477 kg heroin was recovered.
According to the information, the heroin was hidden in an intelligence chamber built inside the truck. At the same time, the driver of the truck is said to be a resident of Patharkandi. The value of the seized heroin has been estimated in crores. In the entire proceedings, the truck driver has also been arrested after confiscating. At present, the arrested person has been handed over to the local police for further interrogation.
