Anand Giri News: Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority (HRDA) has sealed Anand Giri’s ashram in Haridwar. In fact, HRDA vice-chairman VS Pandey told that the Haridwar-Roorkee Development Authority had sealed Anand Giri’s ashram in Haridwar on May 13 and no order was given to remove it. When he came to know that the seal had been removed, he issued a show cause notice to the JE of the area and sealed it again.

Anand Giri is a disciple of Mahant Narendra Giri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad and he is also one of the accused in the Mahant’s death case. He has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days in connection with Mahant’s death. Anand Giri and Aadya Prasad Tiwari were produced in a court in Prayagraj on Wednesday, which sent them to 14-day judicial custody. District government advocate (criminal) Gulab Chandra Agrahari said that the accused Anand Giri and Aadya Prasad Tiwari were produced in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Harendra Nath today.

Gulab Chandra Agrahari told that Anand Giri’s lawyer presented the bail application in the court, but the judge after perusing the post-mortem report and considering the serious nature of the case, rejected the bail application. The court sent both the accused to 14-day judicial custody.

Two mobile phones of the late Mahant, video made by Mahant Narendra Giri before his death, nylon rope, knife, seven-page suicide note were presented in the court as evidence by the investigating officer Mahesh Singh.

The date of October 5 has been fixed for the next hearing of the matter. Significantly, on Monday, the body of Mahant Narendra Giri was found from the room of his Math. According to the police, Mahant Narendra Giri allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself. An FIR was lodged by Amar Giri Pawan Maharaj at Georgetown police station late on Monday, in which Anand Giri, a disciple of Mahant Narendra Giri, was accused of abetment to suicide.
