Puri sahab considers me his lucky mascot: Charmi Kaur

In this exclusive free and frank interview for Mayapuri, the producer, Charmi Kaur, tells Jyoti Venkatesh that Karan Johar is a sweetheart and many times I called him even at 1 am.
Interview excerpts…

You are the producer of the film Liger, which has been made as a Pan India film in five languages namely Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada and although she has acted in around 20 films in Telugu and Hindi over a period of 13 years.

This year, you are not starring in Liger. Why?
Though it is true that I acted in Puri Sahab’s Budha Hoga Tera Baap, but I am not a part of his film like Liger as an actress as I am no longer obsessed with acting. I frankly don’t think I’m as young as Ananya Panday or Janhvi Kapoor for that matter, who I could have said a decade and a half ago was able to play the lead lady effortlessly.
Why did you decide to produce the film Liger under the banner of Puri Connects?
That is because Puri sahib considers me his lucky mascot. I also feel that as far as I am concerned he is not only a great guru but it is also true that he is my lucky mascot. I think Puri sahib is an exceptional supporter of women’s rights and encourages women a lot. They say that when a woman makes up her mind, no one else has the right, not even a man, to move an inch.
