Russia’s purpose in Donbass fulfilled!
Kyiv. Russia appears to have achieved one of its goals of attacking Ukraine. After capturing a large area in the Donbass in eastern Ukraine, it has built a corridor from there to Crimea. Russia’s defense ministry said it had connected the Donbass region occupied by Crimea and eastern Ukraine with a land border. The Defense Ministry said that the two areas have been connected through a land corridor. Through this the movement of people and goods has started. In 2014, Russia annexed Crimea.
However, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has said – Russian Railways and Army are working together. Railway track of 12 hundred kilometers has started. Through this, traffic between Russia, Eastern Ukraine and Crimea has been started. Ukraine, on the other hand, claims that its fierce battle with Russia continues. Odessa Regional Military Administration spokesman Serhi Brachuk said the war had become so dangerous that a Russian soldier was killed every five minutes. Despite this claim, Russia has strengthened its position in eastern Ukraine.
Meanwhile, three people were killed and six were injured in the Russian bombing of Kharkiv. On the other hand, there is news that Ukrainian soldiers trapped in Mariupol’s Azhovstal Steel Plant, who surrendered to the Russian army, are being sent to Russia. According to Ukrainian media, about a thousand soldiers have been sent to Russia.
In eastern Ukraine itself, fighting continues between Russian and Ukrainian troops in the city of Svyrodonetsk. It is an important industrial centre. Capturing here would open the way to Kramatorsk, the main city of Donetsk. At least 70 percent of the territory of Sivirodnetsk is reported to be under Russian control. However, the Ukrainian military has denied this. Ukraine says the war is continuing there.
