This report states that the Apex Council of BCCI recently approved the expansion with Bengaluru-based multinational educational technology company Byju’s. By the way, this agreement was to end after the current series against Sri Lanka. But now it has been extended for one year.

Oppo got sponsorship instead

Let us tell you that Byjus became the jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team in 2019 instead of Chinese mobile phone company Oppo. This agreement officially started from September 2019. The BCCI said in a statement in May 2019 that Byju’s will handle all the obligations of the current team sponsor Oppo Mobiles India Pvt Ltd.

Rs 1.56 crore paid to BCCI
