Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor gets bail, but will still have to stay in jail

New Delhi | Rana Kapoor gets bail: Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor got bail on Wednesday in the Rs 300 crore fraud case. The special PMLA court has granted bail to Rana Kapoor in a case today, but even after getting bail, Rana Kapoor will not be able to come out of jail yet. Let us inform that, Rana Kapoor had earlier filed a bail petition in January 2022 as well, but then his petition was rejected by the court.

Will remain in jail even if he is on bail
Rana Kapoor gets bail: Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor, who is trapped in the multi-crore fraud case, may have been granted bail by the special PMLA court, but he still will not be able to get out of jail. Actually, other cases are also registered against Rana Kapoor by CBI and ED. In such a situation, Kapoor will have to be lodged in Taloja Jail.

Significantly, this case registered against Rana Kapoor is related to the loan taken by Oyster Buildwell Pvt Ltd, which is a holding company of Yes Bank Ltd’s Avantha Realty Ltd. The ED had registered a money laundering case against Rana Kapoor, his wife Bindu Kapoor and Avantha Group promoter Gautam Thapar on the basis of a predicate offense registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
