World Athletics Championship 2022: Paul creates history, becomes first Indian to reach triple jump final

Aldos Paul, who was in Group A, finished sixth, while overall he managed to make it to the final by finishing 12th.

In the ongoing World Athletics Championship 2022 in America, Indian player Aldos Paul has made history by entering the final of the triple jump event. Paul has become the first Indian athlete to achieve such a feat. Aldos has qualified for the final by jumping 16.68 meters in the group round.

Let us tell you that in the triple jump event, the contestants were divided into two groups. Players who crossed the top-12 or 17.05 meters of both the groups were to get entry in the final. Aldos Paul, who was in Group A, finished sixth, while overall he managed to make it to the final by finishing 12th.

Let us tell you that Aldos also had to face some problems in getting the visa. Due to this he was a little late in reaching America. However, he did not let it reflect in his performance. He was just short of his season’s best (16.99m) this season. Aldos had his best performance in the Federation Cup held in April this year.

Two more players from India, Praveen Chitrawal (16.49m) and Abdullah Abubakar (16.45m) were also involved in this event. However, he could not reach the final.
