Will start identifying drought affected farmers soon: Soren

Medininagar (Jharkhand). Jharkhand (Jharkhand) Chief Minister Hemant Soren said on Friday that the state government is fully prepared to start identifying farmers in drought-affected blocks to provide them the benefits of the Crop Relief Scheme. is ready. Addressing a gathering on the second day of Khatiani Jauhar Yatra in Palamu district, he said that the government has declared 226 blocks in 22 districts of the state as drought this year.

He said that about 30 lakh registered farmers would soon be provided benefits under the Fasal Rahat Yojana. 1.13 lakh farmers have been identified in Palamu district for the scheme. Livestock is the backbone of the rural economy, he told a public meeting organized by the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha at the local Shivaji Field and directed the police to take action against cattle smugglers in coordination with the Animal Husbandry Department.
